The Orioles didn't just beat Tampa, they took three of four off the team sitting on top of the AL East. That result lands right as the Yankees show up in Baltimore trying to chase the same division, minus their best hitter. Aaron Judge is still weeks away, and every game New York plays without him carries a little more weight than it should this time of year.
Baltimore has no reason to let up. They just proved they can beat the Rays, and beating the Yankees while New York is short-handed is exactly how a team climbs a division standing instead of just hanging around it. For the Yankees, it's the opposite problem: find a way to win without the guy who makes close games less scary, or watch the gap they're trying to close start looking a lot wider.
New York Yankees or Baltimore Orioles, straight up. No Judge, no excuses, just the standings.
