Mike Vrabel did not take the Patriots job to be patient. He took it to be the answer, and answers get graded fast in New England. This is a market that would have sounded absurd about half the coaches in this league, but Vrabel walked into Foxborough with the kind of expectations that turn every three game skid into a referendum.
There is no box score here, no yardage total, nothing to point to and say this is why. There is just the job itself, and how loud the building gets when the record does not match the name on the door. That is the whole prop. Not a stat line, a pressure gauge.
So the question is not whether Vrabel is a good coach. It is whether New England, this year, is a place where good coaches get time. By December 31, 2026, is Mike Vrabel still the Patriots head coach, or has the seat finally given out.
