The Blue Jays just did that to the Guardians. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. drove in five runs by himself and Toronto walked out of Cleveland with an 11-0 beatdown, the kind of score that makes a wild card race feel a little less crowded overnight. Now they run it back, same ballpark, same opponent, and a Guardians team that has to answer for it immediately.
There is no time to sit with a loss like that. Cleveland gets Toronto again before the sting even fades, and everyone in that clubhouse knows what happened last time out. Do they come out desperate to prove the blowout was a fluke, or does a lineup that just got run off the field carry that into another game against the team that did it.
Toronto has every reason to believe the formula works twice. Guerrero is hot, the offense is clicking, and the standings say every one of these games matters down the stretch. Blue Jays or Guardians, who wins the rematch.
